Titanium for Chemical Processing

Corrosion-resistant titanium components that outlast stainless steel alternatives by decades in aggressive chemical environments.

Chemical Resistance

Titanium provides exceptional resistance to oxidizing acids including nitric acid at all concentrations and temperatures, chlorine gas and chlorine dioxide, wet chlorine environments that cause rapid failure of most metals, organic acids including acetic, citric, and tartaric acids, and alkaline solutions. This makes titanium indispensable in chlor-alkali plants, pulp and paper mills (bleach plant equipment), water and wastewater treatment (chlorination systems), pharmaceutical manufacturing, and food processing (where titanium's non-toxic nature is an additional advantage).

Equipment We Manufacture

CastAlloy produces titanium chemical processing components including heat exchanger shells, tube sheets, baffles, and channels, reactor vessel internals and agitator assemblies, pump casings, impellers, and shaft sleeves, valve bodies and trim for corrosive fluid handling, piping components including flanges, elbows, and tees, and electrochemical cell components for chlorine production. Manufacturing methods span investment casting, forging, and precision CNC machining depending on geometry, size, and production volume.

Lifecycle Value

Titanium heat exchangers in chloride-containing chemical service typically deliver 20 to 30 years of maintenance-free operation compared to 3 to 5 years for stainless steel units. When downtime costs, replacement labor, and safety risk are factored in, titanium provides the lowest total cost of ownership despite its higher initial purchase price.
