Titanium Aerospace Structural Components

Lightweight, high-strength titanium structural components for next-generation commercial and military aircraft.

Titanium in Aircraft Structures

Titanium alloys are used extensively in modern aircraft structures where their 40% weight savings over steel at equivalent strength translates directly into improved fuel efficiency, increased range, and greater payload capacity. Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5) is the dominant alloy for aerospace structural applications, providing tensile strength above 130 ksi with excellent fatigue life and complete immunity to the atmospheric corrosion that plagues steel components. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner uses approximately 15% titanium by weight, and this trend continues upward in next-generation aircraft designs as designers push for lighter, more efficient airframes.

Components We Manufacture

CastAlloy produces titanium structural components through closed-die forging for maximum fatigue strength in bulkheads, wing attach fittings, flap tracks, door surrounds, engine pylon fittings, and landing gear components. Investment casting serves complex geometries including hydraulic valve bodies, actuator housings, and structural brackets where forging dies would be prohibitively expensive. Our multi-axis CNC machining centers bring forged and cast blanks to final specifications with the tight tolerances and surface finishes that aerospace assembly requires.

Quality and Delivery

All titanium aerospace structural components are manufactured under our ISO 9001:2015 quality system with processes aligned to AS9100 requirements. Material is procured per AMS 4928 (bars), AMS 4935 (forgings), or equivalent specifications with full mill certifications. Finished components undergo comprehensive NDT including ultrasonic, fluorescent penetrant, and dimensional inspection. Contact our aerospace team for structural titanium component quotations.
