Offshore Material Requirements
Offshore oil and gas production presents unique material challenges beyond those in onshore facilities. Equipment is exposed to continuous seawater contact (splash zone, submerged, and atmospheric marine conditions), limited maintenance access (especially for subsea equipment), extreme reliability requirements (equipment must operate for decades without failure), combined sour gas and chloride exposure at elevated temperatures, and cathodic protection compatibility requirements. Inconel 625 meets all these requirements while providing mechanical properties suitable for both structural and pressure-containing applications.
Offshore Applications
CastAlloy supplies Inconel 625 components for offshore production including topside process piping and fittings in corrosive service, riser and flowline connectors, production manifold components, umbilical termination fittings, chemical injection system components, fire-safe valve components for platform safety systems, and splash zone structural connectors. We work to industry standards including API, NORSOK, and operator-specific specifications.
